This is a scarce World War I United States Air Service 3rd Aero Park Squadron shoulder patch. Aero parks (also known as air parks) were responsible for maintenance. The patch is in pieced red, white and blue wool felt with a chain-stitched number 3 at its center.
Circa World War I.
Approximately 2-1/2" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Wool felt on wool felt embroidered in cotton/silk threads.
