Description
This is a scarce World War I service medal presented by the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Company. The medal hangs from a rainbow-hued ribbon, reads PRESENTED BY THE PHILADELPHIA RAPID TRANSIT CO. IN GRATEFUL RECOGNITION OF PATRIOTIC SERVICES IN THE WORLD WAR, and shows a Cooperative Welfare Association logo at the bottom.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 2-5/8" height and 1-5/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Bronze, silk ribbon, brass pin.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin with C catch on bar.
MARKINGS:W&H CO. NEWARK N.J. PAT. APL'D FOR on bar and W&H NEWARK, N.J. on reverse of medal.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The medal shows some light wear and is handsomely tarnished, while the ribbon shows some light wear.
