Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare early 1960s painted resin plaque from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (Portsmouth, New Hampshire/Kittery, Maine) for the USS Abraham Lincoln SSN-60The Abraham Lincoln was launched May 14, 1960 and after testing in the United States, transferred to Holy Loch, Scotland. She stayed in Scotland for four years except for a brief time when the Cuban Missile Crisis erupted in October 196The ship was in an upkeep period when she received orders to deploy, and proceeded to the Caribbean for a successful 65-day patrol. She served into the early 1980s.

Circa early 1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 8-1/2" in height and 7-1/2" in width and 11/16" in depth.

Painted resin.
