ARTIFACT: Mid - 1960's Nuclear Submarine USS Tinosa SSN - 606 hand-painted plaque from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. The USS Tinosa is named for after the fish of the same name which are tropical, black, and poisonous. She was built at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1958. The shield shaped wooden plaque features a blue painted resin center that depicts the submarine's crest and reads: "TINOSA SSN 606".

VINTAGE: Circa mid - 1960's

SIZE: Approximately 10" x 12"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wood, painted resin

ATTACHMENT: Eyelet screws with copper Wire for hanging.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay MAEX15 LHEX7/15

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine&emdash;Excellent): The plaque shows minor to moderate wear, nearly all the painted details remain fully intact.
