ARTIFACT: This is a  Salty World War II Fairbairn - Sykes Fighting Knife 3rd Pattern "2" on Handle, and stamped with a "Broad Arrow" /|\ 13. Oval crossguard, knurled pattern grip, and rounded ball, and stamped "ENGLAND".  The Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife is a double-edged fighting knife resembling a dagger or poignard with a foil grip developed by William Ewart Fairbairn and Eric Anthony Sykes in Shanghai based on concepts which the two men initiated before World War II while serving on the Shanghai Municipal Police in China. The F-S knife is strongly associated with the British commandos and the US Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and Marine Raiders (who based their issued knife on the Fairbairn-Sykes), among other special forces/clandestine/raiding units.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 10-5/8" x 2" Blade:5-7/8" Handle:4-5/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Steel with black painted handle of white metal.

CONDITION: 4 (Very Good - ): The blade is rusty and handle black color is faded, but all of the stampings and marks remain intact, overall VG- condition and "been there" look.
