ARTIFACT:

This is a World War II United States Navy Mark II (MKII) fighting utility knife. The knife is by R.C.C.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Overall (sheathed): approximately 13-1/8" in length and 2-9/16" in width; knife only: approximately 12" in length and 2-9/16" in width; blade only: approximately 7" in length and 1-1/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Steel, wood, woven cotton, cast resin, brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Snap on sheath strap, small hole at bottom of sheath.

MARKINGS:

USN MK 2 NORD 6581 B.M. CO. 7 VP insignia; USN MK2 R.C.C.

ITEM NOTES:

This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJX01 LGEX4/12 SFJX10/12

CONDITION:

6 (Fine+): The knife has some areas of medium to heavy wear and tarnish; sheath has some areas of wear and some oxidation near top.
