Description
This is a rough but rare circa 1943 United States Army Air Forces 23rd Fighter Group, 14th Air Force patch in painted leather. The 23rd were the successors to the legendary American Volunteer Group, the Flying Tigers. This patch is usually found in multi-piece leather, and is rare found in painted single-layer leather. This patch was not worn, but has had some poor storage conditions over the last seventy years.
VINTAGE:Circa 1943 (World War II).
SIZE:Approximately 5-7/8" in height and 4-7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Painted leather.
