ARTIFACT: This is a rare, hand-painted World War II jacket patch for the United States Army Air Forces 11th Fighter Squadron, 343rd Fighter Group, 11th Air Force. The 11th defended the Aleutians Islands and saw combat in the Northern Pacific, flying both P-40s and P-38s. The patch shows the head of a yellow tiger and reads WE'LL BE THERE. The photo of the envelope posted from Seattle in 1944 (envelope not for sale) helps to identify this patch (credit for image: www.postalhistory.com).

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 5-1/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Hand-painted leather.
