Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare Canadian-made field jacket patch for the United States Army Air Forces stationed at Gander, Newfoundland. The patch is shaped similar to a gear and reads USAAF GANDER NFLD, showing an aviator goose in salute.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

5-1/8" diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Black multi-piece felt patch with multi-colored cotton/silk threads in a chain-stitch and muslin backing.

MARKINGS:

CREST CARFT SASKATTOON, SK. maker's stamp on reverse.

ITEM NOTES:

CONDITION:

8 (Excellent-): Patch is in wonderful shape and shows only a few small spots of wear.
