ARTIFACT:

This is a rare Canadian-made patch for the United States Army Air Forces 70th Ferrying Squadron in the North Atlantic. The patch is cloud-shaped, showing a winged star insignia with the profile of an aircraft in the background, and reads NORTH ATLANTIC SQUADRON USA 70TH.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1942, Early World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 4-3/16" in height x 6" in length.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Multi-piece Red, White, Blue, Yellow / Gold, & Black felt patch, with chain stitch embroidery in multi-colored cotton/silk threads and a cotton backing.

ATTACHMENT:

To be sewn onto Flight Clothing.
