ARTIFACT: This is a rare World War II United States Army Air Forces 826th Bomb Squadron distinctive insignia made in France. The 826th existed for just under two years, participating largely in long-range bombing missions in Europe. Later the group also transported troops in and out of Morocco. The DI shows a vulture perched upon a gun.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted aluminum.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: MADE IN FRANCE A. AUGIS 28 MEE ST. BARTHELEMY LYON.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TRFCX10 LFGEX3/12 SEJJX5/13

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The DI has some small spots of light to medium wear and some crazing/lifting of the paint.
