ARTIFACT:

This is a World War II United States Navy Relief Society badge presented for completion of 1,000 volunteer hours. The Relief Society, first organized in 1904, is now known as the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS). The badge is enameled in red and was made by Bastian Brothers.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 3/4" square.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

BASTIAN BROS. CO. ROCH. N.Y. and union marks.
