ARTIFACT: This is a rare World War II Massachusetts State Guard 1st Brigade Headquarters & Headquarters Detachment DI. The Headquarters was at the Worcester Armory in Worcester, Massachusetts and the commander was Brigadier General Joseph W. O'Connor. a combat veteran of World War I. This DI has been misidentified many times and is not very often seen in DI catalogs. It is a sterling silver crest-shaped pin beautifully enameled in crimson and bearing the number one. It was made by Robbins Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 1-1/16" height and 13/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety pin.

MARKINGS: ROBBINS CO. ATTLEBORO MASS. STERLING.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI has moderate tarnishing on the reverse; all enamel is intact.
