This is a rare World War II German Navy 3rd Schnellboot Flotilla side cap badge. This "S-Boat", or speedboat, flotilla operated in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, the Aegean and Croatia. The badge is wonderfully enameled and shows a lone penguin against a field of blue.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-7/16" in height and 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge shows very little wear with some tarnish on the reverse only. .
