ARTIFACT:
This is a rare World War II Croatian Grand Cross set of the Order of King Zvonimir with star. It was made by Braca Knaus in gilt gold and enamels mounted on a full length of sash ribbon. The star is made in silver, with the center appliqu? in gilt and enamels, and is double hallmarked on pin and reverse of the star: "NDH BK" along with silver hallmark (Roster), (BK for Braca Knaus, Zagreb). This is an extremely rare example of the highest order awarded by the Government of Croatia during WWII. The presence of Swords on the awards denotes that it was awarded to a military official. An award of this grade would have been originally presented to a high ranking member of the military, either Croatian, or more likely, a German General.
