This is a rare civilian pilot training instructor "Fly-Weighter" crusher by Lewis. The hat is a gorgeous chocolate brown and has a great eagle sterling silver badge.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:No tag: approximate size 7 - 7 1/4.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool, leather, sterling silver, plated brass, cotton, silk.
MARKINGS:TAILORED BY LEWIS with maker's mark and THE FLYWEIGHTER BY LEWIS.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEJR00 LCIEX9/10 SCJJX8/12
CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): Cap shows little wear save inside, where there is some crackling, and on the badge.
