Description
This is a framed World War I memorial for Corporal Norman T. Johnson of the United States Army 2nd Division, 2nd Ammo Train. This piece is rare to this unit, and is in painted silk and velvet. The memorial shows the division's "Indianhead" against a star at its center and lists the many places where the unit distinguished itself: Verdun, Chateau-Thierry, Soissons, the Marbach Sector, St. Mihiel, Champagne and Argonne-Meuse.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 22-3/4" in height and 20-5/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Painted silk and velvet, wood, glass, paper.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The memorial is well preserved with some light staining along the edges and some small spots of wear to the frame and the paper on reverse.
