Both medals are named along the bottom edge to Oscar Sjostrom, born in 1887 at Helsingborg, Sweden. They are accompanied by corresponding post-War paperwork: a letter from the Mercantile Marine Department responding to Sjostrom's request for the war medals, along with a certificate authorizing the wear of both medals by Sjostrom with his own signature. Both medals show the bust of George V on the front in relief.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I (paperwork circa 1925).

SIZE: Both medals: approximately 4-13/16" in height and 1-7/16" in width (at widest point); certificate: approximately 5" by 7".

MARKINGS: Oscar Sjostrom on edge of each medal; 28 April 1925 stamp on authorizing certificate.
