ARTIFACT:

This is a Rare Later 19th Century Scottish Royal House of Scotland Clan Badge in Heavy Cast Silver.

Badge shows a A Pelican In Her Piety Or, The Nest Vert, inside a Garter reading: SALUS PER CHRISTUM (Salvation Through Christ) being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
The Pelican feeding her pelicanets is usually associated with the Stewart or Stuart Clan, and the motto with the Abernathy Clan.

VINTAGE:

Later 19 Century.

SIZE:

Approximately 2" in height x 1-3/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Heavy Cast Silver.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal T- pin with 'C' catch.
