ARTIFACT: Circa 1890's Scottish Clan Badge for Clan MacKinnon in silver-plated, cast nickel and reads 'AUDENTES FORTUNA JUVAT' ("Fortune assists the daring" or "Fortune favors the bold"). The Mackinnon clan took part in the thirty years war with neighboring clans such as MacKay, Love and McFarlane. Early history states that the Mackinnon clan was one of the most powerful clan in highland Scotland.

VINTAGE: Circa 1890's

SIZE: Approximately 2" x 1 5/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver-plated, cast nickel.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal 'T' style kick pin with come under 'C' catch

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a 19th century Scottish clan badge collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay MBEX14 LADEX10/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): Clan badge shows minor wear and nearly all of the silver-plating remains intact.
