Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare circa late World War II variant patch-type distinctive insignia for the United States Army 11th "Ghost" Infantry Division, also known as the "Angels". The insignia resembles a pie with twelve slices, and the twelfth slice is not blackened out as in the ordinary insignia for the 11th.

VINTAGE:

Circa late World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

None.
