ARTIFACT: Rare, late 1950's United States Air Force Police Badge #48438, Type 2 with enamel center and pinback. The badge features a beautifully enameled Air Police insignia at the center surrounded by the words: "DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", a spread-winged eagle sits perched at the top and it reads: "AIR POLICE" just below its talons, the base of the badge is numbered "48438"

VINTAGE: Circa late 1950's

SIZE: Approximately 2-9/16" x 1-5/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated sterling silver, enamel

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop in locking swivel catch

MARKINGS: "PROPERTY OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a military police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MABEX16 LCIEX7/16

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The badge shows moderate wear, the enameled shield shows small fractures in the white section, some of the plating details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
