Description
This is a rare US Marine Aircraft Repair Squadron 17 (MARS-17) grouping with patch, prototype and personal effects of Sgt. Robert Joseph Vincent. The grouping includes a large squadron patch and a cloth illustration of it, a period newspaper article in the Bridgeport Sunday Post about Sergeant Vincent (designer of the patch), a ticket in Japanese, a belt buckle, a dog tag, two ribbon bars, and two EGAs.
VINTAGE:Circa Korean War.
SIZE:Items are various sizes; patch is 5-3/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully-embroidered patch in silk/cotton threads on muslin backing; brass belt buckle; silk-wrapped cardboard bars; plated brass EGAs; white metal dog tag; patch prototype on cloth; laminated newsprint; paper ticket.
