Rare Korean War Era, circa 1951 - 1952 United States Navy VP-22 Jacket Patch. VP-22 was based in Hawaii, the flying blue bird is the second insignia of VP-22 and was approved in October 1951 and used until 195The patch is dated to the early 1950's, as it is missing the searchlight ribbon later seen. The patch depicts a blue bird soaring through the air and lightening clouds while dropping bombs.
