Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare numbered World War II era American Red Cross (ARC) Volunteer Braille Expert badge. The badge comes on its original American Red Cross card upon which is typed the name of the original wearer: Mrs. B.B. Hyer. The badge is beautifully enameled.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Badge: approximately 15/16" in diameter; card: 1-15/16" by 2-5/16".

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel; oaktag.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

A607T on reverse of badge: "Mrs. B.B. Hyer" on card.

8 (Excellent-): The pin has hardly any wear; card has some creasing.
