Rare Circa 1900 Post Office Dept. Railway Mail Service Hat Badge

Rare circa 1900 Post Office Department Railway Mail Service hat badge. The stamped, oval badge reads: "U.S. MAIL" in the center with the number: "24654" just below and surrounding it reads: "POST OFFICE DEPT. RAILWAY MAIL SERVICE". This example is rare, I've seen only one of this type of badge for every 100 or more of the Railway Mail Service "Coat" badges.

Stamped nickel plated nickel, black paint

Horizontal kick pin with drop in locking catch.
