ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa 1922 USPO letter carrier hat badge from Mesa, Arizona. Mesa was officially founded in 1878. The badge is numbered 2 and is slightly convex. It has an N.C. Walter & Sons of New York maker mark on reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa 1922.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/16" in height and 2-7/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Two loops with ornate stick pin.

MARKINGS: 2 on front; N.C. WALTER & SONS NEW YORK on reverse.

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The badge shows some areas of moderate wear and tarnish.
