Description
This is a 1910's US Post Office Dept. Railway Mail Service Clerk Badge in stamped nickel. The center of the badge is an oval with the letters: "U.S." overlapping in the center surrounded by thirteen stars and the words: "POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT RAILWAY MAIL SERVICE" and the base of the badge is numbered "40075", a standing eagle is perched at the top of the badge clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Produced early 20-mid century, worn by until at least the 1930's.
VINTAGE:Circa 1910's.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/2" in height x 2-1/8"in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Stamped nickel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with a tongue-style C catch.
