This is a beautiful and rare US-made Free French Navy BB-15 Richelieu battleship badge. The badge shows a scroll with the Latin text: Furentibus Eminet Austris, meaning "Stronger than the Southern Winds."
VINTAGE:Circa 1943.
SIZE:Approximately 1 3/8" in height by 1 ¼" in width (3.5cm by 3.2cm).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver-plated nickel with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with tongue-style catch.
MARKINGS:None.
