ARTIFACT: Rare 1945 316th Troop Carrier Group President's Birthday Ball (FDR) Ticket for Celebration at De Montfort Hall in Leicester, United Kingdom. The announcement is from the estate of 316th Troop Carrier Group Glider Pilot Lieutenant Howard Johnson. The highly decorated 316th flew the Douglass C-47 Skytrain and served in both the European and Mediterranean Theaters during WWII. The top center of the ticket displays the "AIRBORNE TROOP CARRIER" emblem and beneath it reads: "316TH TROOP CARRIER GROUP AAF PRESENTS PRESIDENT'S BIRTHDAY BALL AT DE MONTFORT HALL ON THE EVENING OF WEDNESDAY JAN. 31, 1945"

VINTAGE: Circa 1945

SIZE: Approximately 4 ¾ x 3 ¾"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oak tag and ink.
