This is a rare circa 1944 United States Army Air Forces "issue" flight nurse wing in gold plated sterling silver. The center of the wing shows a caduceus bearing the letter "N". This wing is unusual in that it has a reversed content marking.
VINTAGE:Circa 1944 (World War II).
SIZE:Approximately 11/16" in height and 2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutchbacks.
MARKINGS:ACID TEST; STERLING SIL. (reversed).

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The wing has some areas of light to medium wear/tarnish.
