ARTIFACT: Rare 1944 pattern Croatian Naval Legion Breast badge, German-made. The breast badge is made from zinc and lacquer depicting the national coat-of-arms and the Ustasha emblem. The Croatian Naval Legion served as part of the Kriegsmarine, one of three official branches of the Wehrmacht, the armed forces of Nazi Germany. From late 1944 until the end of the war, the surviving fleet provided artillery support to the retreating German land forces and evacuated two million civilians and troops in during the evacuation of East Prussia and Danzig from January to May 1945.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: 3 5/16" x 1-3/4"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Zinc and paint.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: None.
