ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa 1940s pilot hat badge 2nd Issue for Mid-Continent Airlines, which was established in 1928 in Iowa, but became part of Braniff International Airways in 1952. The badge is in the early stamped type style and has great red, white and blue enameled details.

VINTAGE: Circa 1940s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-9/16" in height by 2-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Two posts with clutch-back catches, single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some light to medium wear and tarnish.
