Description
This is a wonderful and rare circa 1930s WPA (Work Progress Administration) planting shovel. From 1935 to the middle of 1943, the WPA (also known as the Work Projects Administration) employed thousands of men in public works projects across the nation. The shovel is double-marked: both the handle and blade read "W.P.A". There is also a 14 on the neck of the shovel.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 44" in length and 6" in width across the blade.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Iron, wood.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The shovel has some expected wear and some minor cracking that does not affect it structurally.
