This is a rare circa 1939 Work Projects Administration worker badge for the crew at North Beach Airport in New York. The crew undertook the modernization of the small airport, Christened as the Glenn H. Curtiss Airport, the North Beach Airport was renamed in 1930 after Curtiss' death, and is now known as LaGuardia. The badge is numbered 288.
VINTAGE:Circa 1939.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Celluloid , plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin.

CONDITION:6 (Fine+): The badge has a few cracks in the celluloid and moderate rusting on the reverse.
