ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1930s United States Marine Corps Base San Diego WPA (Works Progress Administration) worker badge. Known since 1948 as the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) San Diego, the base is not to be confused with Camp Pendleton. One of the WPA projects handled by the Marines was the restoration of the Adobe Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, originally built in 1850.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a 1930s United States Marine Corps insignia collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MFJX14 LBBEX7/14 SBJJX3/15

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge has only some very light wear.
