ARTIFACT: Rare 1930's Portsmouth Navy Yard auto license plate or plate topper. The plate is red, painted steel and reads: "NAVY YARD 318 PORTSMOUTH" in raised lettering in white painted detail.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930's.

SIZE: Approximately 7-3/4" in length x 4-3/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped, painted steel.

ATTACHMENT: Two oval holes for attachment to vehicle or plate.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Portsmouth Navy Yard collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJP16 LBDEX6/16 SBDEX01/23/22

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The plate shows moderate to heavy wear and oxidation, much of the painted details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
