This is a rare circa 1920s or 1930s South African Air Force pilot wing. This is an early wing, as the South African Air Force was established in 1920. The wing was made in South Africa and shows a wreathed crest below a crown.
VINTAGE:Circa 1920s-1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-11/16" in height and 4-13/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool felt embroidered in multi-colored cotton/silk threads with a muslin backing.
ATTACHMENT:None.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from an early South African Air Force wing collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJX09 LBCEX4/10 SLEGEX8/14
CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The wing shows light wear and has a small spot on edge wear felt is missing.
