ARTIFACT: This is a private purchase World War I Royal Flying Corps officer's overseas cap. The cap has two small buttons at the front and a Royal Flying Corps insignia badge with a cotter pin upon the left side. There is an Oxford manufacturer label inside.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: No size tag but probably 7 or smaller; laid flat (in half) the hat measures roughly 10-1/2" by 4"; badge: 1-7/16" by 1-18/".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool with cotton/silk/velvet, brass buttons and badge.

ATTACHMENT: Cotter pin on badge.

MARKINGS: HALLS BROS. 94, HIGH STREET, OXFORD.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWI Great Britain and Commonwealth uniform and headgear collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-LL-VBJJX10 LDGEX4/14 SDJJX11/14

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The hat has some very light wear to the outside and some moderate wear/soiling to the inside only.
