Description
This is a private purchase World War I Royal Flying Corps officer's overseas cap. The cap has two small buttons at the front and a Royal Flying Corps insignia badge with a cotter pin upon the left side. There is an Oxford manufacturer label inside.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:No size tag but probably 7 or smaller; laid flat (in half) the hat measures roughly 10-1/2" by 4"; badge: 1-7/16" by 1-18/".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool with cotton/silk/velvet, brass buttons and badge.
ATTACHMENT:Cotter pin on badge.
MARKINGS:HALLS BROS. 94, HIGH STREET, OXFORD.
