ARTIFACT: This is a nicely made hat badge for a pilot of the Deutsches Luft Verband, the Civil Aviation branch of the Nazi Party. This badge was made in the Pre-WWII years when the DLV was secretly training pilots for the soon-to-emerge Luftwaffe.

VINTAGE: Circa mid-1930s.

SIZE: About 2-7/8" in width by 1-1/4" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver plated brass with translucent red and opaque black enameling.

ATTACHMENT: Two heavy brass wires to be pushed through a cap and bent over.

MARKINGS: WILH. DEUMER, LUDENSCHEID and GES. GESCH.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a large collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. SXBBJ6/10

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very fine): Wear to silver finish on high points and edges. Enamel is perfect.
