Description
This is a circa early Third Reich aviation meet badge from a 1934 event in Hamburg for the DLV (Deutsches Luft Verband), the Civil Aviation branch of the Nazi Party. This badge was made in the pre-WWII years when the DLV was secretly training pilots for the soon-to-emerge Luftwaffe. It has a unique unpierced construction with a silver wash. There is a propeller at its center and reads FLIEGER-TREFFEN (flyer meet) HAMBURG 1934.
VINTAGE:Circa 1934.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 1-15/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Unpierced construction brass with silver wash and painted areas.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The tinnie shows only some small areas of light wear; silver wash is intact.
