Pre-War Chinese Air Force Officer's Dagger with Sharkskin Grip

This is a beautiful example of a high quality pre-War Chinese Air Force officer's dagger. The grip is fashioned from sharkskin and capped with a fantastically detailed golden eagle with red eyes. The crossguard is decorated with an eagle in flight on both sides. The blade is fullered on both sides. The end of the scabbard is capped in a gilt brass winged sun.

Circa 1930s.

Approximately 13-3/4" in length and 2-5/8" in width; blade only: 9-5/16" in length and 15/16" in width; scabbard only: 10" in length and 1-3/16" in width; 14-7/16" length (while in scabbard).

Steel, gilt brass, sharkskin grip, enamel, chromed steel scabbard.
