ARTIFACT:
If you have any ambition to own a true piece of WWII Aviation history related to the WASPs then this is the group that will crown your collection. Almost every significant piece of WASP documentation, books, photos and insignia have been preserved. "Scotty" Lowell-Wallace was already a private pilot when she received the letter from Jacquelin Cochran to join the program in Sweetwater, TX. Lowell-Wallace had already written to Jackie in February, 1943. By October she graduated with 180 hours from Aviation Enterprises at Avenger Field in Sweetwater, TX. Included in this amazing collection are Lowell-Wallace's notification letter with Cochran's original signature. Her graduation certificate from Aviation Enterprises. Her civil pilots ID, her War Department ID for the Ferrying Division and her Army Air Forces Air Transport Command ID.
Uniform material includes a female officer's belt.. Also included is a custom made WWII era blue flight jacket in a commercial wool close to the Santiago blue shade. This was not an issue jacket but a custom tailored piece. This jacket features Scotty's collar insignia, and winged prop insignia, 1st AF patch and Lowell-Wallace's WASP pilot wing. This is a WWII issue wing, clutch back and marked Josten.
There are numerous photographs of Scotty and other WASPs and aircraft, and even an image of Scotty receiving her wings form Jackie Cochran.
