ARTIFACT: This is a stunning Spanish American War era patriotic USS Maine glass. The glass has a large gilt and white enamel pyro-transfer depicting the battleship before her demise in 1898. The sinking of the USS Maine precipitated the Spanish-American War soon after she exploded at Havana Harbor on February 15, 1898. Popular opinion at the time blamed the Spanish for the Maine's demise although the evidence was far from conclusive. This very cool glass is the only one I've seen just like it.

VINTAGE: Circa Spanish American War (1898-1901).

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/2" in diameter (at base) and 3-9/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Glass with enamel pyro-transfer.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USS Maine commemorative collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months.  MAJX13 LADEX11/13 SABJX02/22

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The glass has little wear.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
