Description
This is a nice World War I era 9th Bavarian Infantry veteran's association ribbon from Wurzburg. The top part of the ribbon shows two soldiers shaking hands in relief, with a gold Imperial crown above and a number "9" below. The reverse of the metal portion has a Munich maker's mark on the pin saddle, and a pale blue and white ribbon hangs below.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 3-1/16" in height and 1-7/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass, gilt brass, silk.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin with saddle.
MARKINGS:GESCHLER & SO. MUNCHEN 9 on saddle.
