Description
This is an old vintage 1920's-30's hand-woven basket from Maine, made by a member of either the Micmac or Passamaquoddy tribe. The basket is in a lovely honey tone with pink and red pigment decoration and has a sturdy, squared-off handle that comes to a decorative beveled point at the center of its underside.
Circa 1920s-1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 10" in height and 8" in diameter (across mouth).

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The basket is in excellent condition with only a small piece of missing from one vertical and one horizontal strip, and slight cracking on the neighboring strips.
