Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a minty and unused set of three United States Army officer sword scabbard fittings. They date from the 1840s or 1850s and are in lovely fine-gilt bronze.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1840s-1850s.

SIZE:

Large fitting: approximately 8" in length by 1-1/16" in width; middle piece 1-1/2" by 4-3/8"; smallest piece: 1-1/4" by 3-9/16".

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fine-gilt bronze.

ATTACHMENT:

Frog; one suspension ring on each of the smaller fittings.

MARKINGS:

None.
