Description
Minty late 1950's - early 1960's United States Navy Task Force 77 U.S.S. Hancock CVA-19 Japanese-made jacket patch. The final CVA-19/TF-77 patch is probably one of the standard WestPac carrier variation patches made during 1961-6Other carriers that came into Yokosuka used the same design. I would suspect it was made by Diamond patch. The center of the patch features a large, red number "77" inside the lines of a scope and surrounding by a blue ring bearing a wreath. The top of the patch depicts a cruiser cutting through the ocean and beneath it reads: "TASK FORCE"and the base of the patch reads: "USS HANCOCK CVA-19".
