ARTIFACT: Minty late 1950's - early 1960's United States Navy Task Force 77 U.S.S. Hancock CVA-19 Japanese-made jacket patch. The final CVA-19/TF-77 patch is probably one of the standard WestPac carrier variation patches made during 1961-66. Other carriers that came into Yokosuka used the same design. I would suspect it was made by Diamond patch. The center of the patch features a large, red number "77" inside the lines of a scope and surrounding by a blue ring bearing a wreath. The top of the patch depicts a cruiser cutting through the ocean and beneath it reads: "TASK FORCE"and the base of the patch reads: "USS HANCOCK CVA-19".

VINTAGE: Circa late 1950's - early 1960's.

SIZE: Approximately 6-3/4" in height x 4-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered, silk/cotton/polyester thread.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto Flight Clothing.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USN collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MCJX15 LAFEX10/15 SAFEX02/13/22

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The patch shows minor wear, overall excellent condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
