Description
This is a Lovely World War I Imperial German Silver Grade Wound Badge Cut Out Type which is equivalent to a Purple Heart. The silver version was awarded to enlistees wounded either three or four times during enemy interaction or who had suffered various other traumas such as the loss of a hand or foot, partial deafness or brain damage. The badge shows a helmet with two crossed swords behind it.
VINTAGE:Circa WWI.
SIZE:Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 1-1/2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical T-style pin with C catch.
