Description
Lovely, early 1800's Wedgwood Jasperware matchbox in deep blue. Very early, primitive example. The top of the matchbox displays a Roman scene and the outer edge is detailed with raised wreath or floral details. Similar floral details are shown on the long sides of the box and the short sides show a group of cherubs. The base of the box displays a maker's stamp: "WEDGWOOD". There has been a small flake repair on inside corner and does not detract (see photo).
